British Flight Lieutenant Alex Cassie, memorably portrayed by Donald Pleasence in one of my all-time favorite films, The Great Escape, passed away last week at the age of 95.

    If you ever get a chance to go and see Colditz Castle (just out of Leipzig) it s a tribute to the spunky Tommies who, with so many other brilliant Brit escapees, inspired the film. Guts, determination and sheer brilliance of mind.
