Tin House assembles a panel to name its favorite debut novels and collections of the year. Swamplandia! and We the Animals get tapped, but some lesser known titles also make the cut.

    I’m very glad to see Sara Levine’s Treasure Island!!! on the list. It’s a terrific novel, but coming as late as it has in 2011, I’m concerned it will be overlooked as folks get excited about the books of 2012.
