I’m not excited about any of the shortlisted books this year
It’s been kind of a weak year for books.

I agree with Stephen. The shortlist this year, in my opinion, leaves much to be desired and is much weaker than years past. No Inherent Vice, Chronic City, Sag Harbor, Await Your Reply, Generosity, Wetlands??? All of those books would be great for the format, and anytime Pynchon releases a book it should be included, period. I always look forward to The Tournament of Books, but sadly this year much less so. Im sure a title or two will grab my attention, but it makes no sense to leave out all those heavyweight authors.
