C. Max Magee created and edits The Millions. He is co-editor of the collection of essays The Late American Novel: Writers on the Future of Books, called "funny, poignant, relentlessly thought-provoking" by The Atlantic. He has appeared on NPR’s “Weekend Edition”, Minnesota Public Radio’s “Midmorning”, and ABC Radio National's "The Book Show" and has written for a number of publications. That guy was, to me, the teacher who I thought was kind of retarded but whose class I liked anyway. I never really felt motivated to read by that show, though, because I was a major book geek and was reading things far above the level of the books presented on that show. Still, it’s sad to see it go. The last time I watched public television I was shocked and then depressed to be bombarded with commercials. Not sponsorship announcements, commercials.
